Woodbury Heights Resident Joins New Jersey Army National GuardPhoto Caption: Woodbury Heights resident Derric Bartholomew (left) is congratulated by Lt. Col. Dennis W. Devery (right), Recruiting and Retention Commander, Recruiting and Retention, New Jersey Army National Guard, after Bartholomew enlisted into the New Jersey Army National Guard at Fort Dix on August 21. Pvt. Bartholomew, graduate of Woodbury High School, has been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st and 114th Infantry Battalion located at the National Guard Armory in Woodbury. He will attend Basic Training at Fort Benning, Ga., and after completing basic; he will begin Advanced Individual Training as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. The Indirect Fire Infantryman serves as a member of a mortar squad, section, or platoon.
