New Jersey Air National Guard Troops Return From Iraq
WHO: 108th Security Forces Squadron
WHAT: Return home after a six month deployment to Iraq
WHEN: 3 p.m., Monday, March 24
WHERE: McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.
Media MUST contact 1st Lt. Kelly at (609) 754-6358 or cell (609) 203-4984 no later than 12 p.m., Monday, March 24 in order to gain entry onto McGuire Air Force Base. Media will need to be at McGuire Visitor Center NLT 2 p.m.
Details – On Monday March 24 at approximately 3:00 p.m., a security squadron of the New Jersey Air National Guard will arrive at their home unit after successfully completing a six-month deployment to Iraq . The fifty Airmen – all volunteers – are from the 108th Air Refueling Wing Security Forces Squadron, based out of McGuire Air Force Base, NJ. Their deployment was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in support of the ongoing global war against terrorism. The 108th Security Forces have made history as the first National Guard unit in charge of security at Baghdad Airport …in command of National Guard, Active Duty, foreign and contractor security teams. Family, friends, unit members and leadership will be on hand to welcome our Airmen.
