Clayton Resident Joins New Jersey Army National GuardClayton resident Pvt. Linda Romano joined the New Jersey Army National Guard at Fort Dix on September 20. She has been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 119th Corps Support Battalion located at the National Guard Armory in Hammonton. Pvt. Romano will attend Basic Training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and after completing basic; she will be trained as a Signal Support Systems Specialist. The Signal Support Systems Specialist installs, employs, maintains, troubleshoots, and assists users with battlefield Signal support systems and terminal devices; integrates Signal systems and networks; performs unit level maintenance on authorized Signal equipment and associated electronic devices; trains and provides technical assistance to users of Signal equipment; and operates and performs preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned vehicles and power generators.
