Bridgeton resident Pvt. Amber Shafer was sworn into the New Jersey Army National Guard on May 3. Shafer will serve with the 154th Water Purification and Distribution Company, located at the National Guard Armory in Woodbury as an Automated Logistics Specialist after she completes basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
