WHAT/WHO: As part of the annual National Guard Association of New Jersey conference, all officers in the New Jersey Army and Air National will be attending a morning meeting where Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth, the Adjutant General of New Jersey, will speak. Many of the officers in attendance will be leading Soldiers and Airmen on deployments in the coming months.

Governor Jon S. Corzine will address the assembled officers before he talks with spouses.

BACKGROUND: In mid-June nearly 3,000 Citizen-Soldiers will be deployed to serve in the Global War on Terrorism; this will be the largest mobilization of the New Jersey Army National Guard since World War II. With other deployments, the total number of the New Jersey Soldiers and Airmen mobilized will rise to nearly 4,000 by January 2009.
