Ocean City resident Pvt. Mathew McDonnell (left) was sworn into the New Jersey Army National Guard by Chief warrant Officer 3 Glenn Eckenrode on Feb. 23.  McDonnell will serve with the 1st Battalion, 114th Infantry, located at the National Guard Armory in Woodstown as an Infantryman after he completes basic training at Fort Benning, Ga.
