Volunteers Honored For 10,000 Plus Hours Of Service At The Vineland Veterans Home
WHO/WHAT:
The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will honor
volunteers at the Vineland Veterans Memorial Home for nearly 13,000 hours
of service donated by individuals, corporations, veterans' organizations
and community groups.
WHEN: Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 12 noon
WHERE: Merighi's Savoy Inn, 4940 East Landis Avenue, Vineland
Volunteer Highlights:
Project of the Year VFW Dept. of NJ - Frank Moore, Past State Commander A beautiful new pavilion located in our center courtyard complete with electric, was provided for use by our residents, family members, and staff.
Volunteers of the Year Carol Moore, State Representative, VFW Auxiliary and Bob Moore, State Representative, VFW Both individuals assist with Coffee Club, Friday hand-outs in Independence Hall, root beer float and ice cream sundaes every Friday afternoon while residents bowl, and have sponsored outings such as trips to the Cape May Ferry, boardwalk, State VFW parties, and fishing.
Group of the Year Vineland Childrens' Residential Treatment Center Robert Michael Fleckenstein, Teacher This group comes every Wednesday to discuss history and play games with our residents on Justice Court. |
