Willingboro Students First To Complete National Guard ‘Stay On Track' Program
WHO/WHAT: Nearly 360 Willingboro elementary school students will have day of activities to include a rock wall and a chance to sit in an Army helicopter as they will be the first students to complete the New Jersey National Guard's ‘Stay on Track' program.
WHEN: Friday, June 6 -- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Helicopter lands at 9:30 a.m.

The ‘Stay on Track' program is run by the NJ National Guard CounterDrug Task Force (CDTF) Drug Demand Reduction Unit, a group of Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen who have become a recognized name in the world of prevention and drug awareness programs in New Jersey, supporting efforts of DARE NJ, county and municipal alliances, local law enforcement, schools, and other community-based organizations. Some of the services include Gateway Drug Presentations, Military Kid's Club, Drug Jeopardy, and physical activities such as the Leadership Climbing Wall and Fatal Vision Goggles. The CounterDrug Aviation Unit also flies helicopters to schools and events, where pilots talk to students about reaching goals and the importance of staying drug-free. |
