World War II Memorial To Announce

Fund Raising Initiative On

Pearl Harbor Anniversary

 

 


WHO: The New Jersey World War II Memorial Commission

WHAT: Site tour and private sector fundraising commencement

WHERE: Veterans Park (Opposite the State House),

                State Street, Trenton, N.J.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 7 at 11 a.m.

 

 

     Following a meeting to be held in Room 319 at the State House, the members of the World War II Memorial Commission will adjourn to the Memorial's future site at Veterans Park (opposite the State House), State Street, Trenton, N.J., to announce its private fundraising initiative.  With some $6 Million required for the construction of the state's memorial to “The Greatest Generation,” the Commission needs raise public awareness and participation in the project to see it through to completion.

 

     The Legislature has appropriated $2 Million in public funds and negotiations for a grant from the Casino Redevelopment Authority are ongoing.  Private and corporate donations are being sought to fund a significant portion of the memorial.

 

     December 7, 2005 marks the 64th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and our Nation's entry into World War II.
