Veterans' Home Residents To Receive Iraq Deployment Flag
WHO/WHAT: Sgt. Maj. Israel Garcia presents an American flag that flew over a New Jersey Army National Guard base in Iraq to residents and staff at the Vineland Veterans Memorial Home. Garcia was among the nearly 2,900 members of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team who finished their year-long deployment last month. The 300-bed Vineland Veterans Memorial Home is one of three long-term care facilities operated by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Opened in 1899 and most recently renovated in 2005, Vineland is the state's oldest veterans' home.
