Korean War Veterans To Receive Medals At Commemorative Ceremony
WHO/WHAT: Ray Zawacki, Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Affairs at New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, will present the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal and the New Jersey Korean Service Medal to Korean War Veterans during a Commemorative Ceremony on the 59th Anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice.
WHEN: Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m.
WHERE: New Jersey Korean War Memorial, Brighton Park at Boardwalk, Atlantic City
Details: The Commemorative Ceremony, which is hosted annually by the New Jersey Korean War Veterans Association, will include a veteran medal ceremony hosted by New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The medal ceremony is part of the State of New Jersey's veterans outreach campaign, whose goal is to bring benefits information to ‘those who served' across the state.
The New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal was originally issued in 1858 for those who distinguished themselves in the New Jersey Militia. It is New Jersey's highest military award.
