Central N.J. Elks To Hold District Wide Flag-Retirement Ceremony At Menlo Park Veterans Home

 


WHO/WHAT: Among veterans from various war conflicts, Mayor Antonia Ricigliano of Edison will join residents from the Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park, as the Central District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will hold a Flag Retirement ceremony at the Home's Town Square. Elks' members from lodges in Carteret, Colonia, East Brunswick, Edison, Metuchen, New Brunswick, Piscataway, Plainfield, South Amboy, South Plainfield, Watchung Hills and Woodbridge will participate.

 

The flag of the United States of America is an honored symbol of our nation's unity, its hopes, its achievements, its glory and its high resolve. When the flag is in such condition, through wear or damage, that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, it shall be destroyed in a dignified manner befitting such a symbol.
