National Guard Holds
WHO/WHAT: Gov. Chris Christie, Brig. Gen. Michael L. Cunniff, the Adjutant General, and members of New Jersey’s Veterans’ community will attend the National Guard’s annual military review.
The review at the National Guard Training Center at Sea Girt carries on a 121-year-old tradition that allows the commander-in-chief of the state militia to review the troops.
The 8,300 Soldiers and Airmen of the New Jersey National Guard have deployed to more than 20 countries around the globe in the past decade on missions to strengthen national security.
More than 2,000 Soldiers and Airmen responded to Superstorm Sandy and provided support for civil authorities over a 150-mile swath of New Jersey. The National Guard helped more than 7,000 people to safety.
