New Jersey Army Guard Unit Returns From Afghanistan Deployment

 


WHO/WHAT: Several hundred family and friends will attend a Welcome Home event for the 508th Military Police Company returning from Afghanistan. More than 135 Citizen-Soldiers left the Teaneck Armory in July 2012 on the Operation Enduring Freedom deployment.  The Guard Soldiers came from across the state with bulk calling Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth/Ocean, Passaic and Sussex counties home.

 

The 508th MPs provided a wide variety of Security Force and Force Protection for multiple locations within Afghanistan. The unit played a critical role in support of Task Force Centurion’s Police Advisory Team and mentored of the Afghan Uniform Police.
