The purpose of this program is to celebrate and honor the significant contributions of Airmen, their families, communities and those special supporters to the mission of the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard. As a result, it is one of the ANG's largest recognition endeavors in history. By National Guard Bureau estimates, there are more than 70,000 current or former Citizen-Airmen nationwide who have deployed for 30 consecutive days or more since Sept. 11, 2001.
