The DMAVA Employee Awards

The DMAVA Employee Awards Program applies to all state and federal employees of the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.The programs purpose is to promote productivity through recognition of employee performance, enhance esprit de corps, increase attendance and standardize awards and their selection criteria.

Awards Criteria: Eligibility Requirements for Employee of the Year and Employee of the Quarter:

1. Must have demonstrated sustained exemplary performance of their assigned tasks.
2. Must have been employed by this department full time for at least one year prior to selection.
3. Must not have been the subject of upheld disciplinary action during the eligibility period.
4. Position held is below Director.

Employee of the Year: Eligibility period 1 January to 31 December of each year. Nominations due NLT 15 January to the Awards Coordinator. Nominations received after this date will not be considered for an award. Submit: NJDMAVA Form 200.6 Any and all documentation

Employee of the Year Awards:
- Designated Parking Space at his/her work site for a year
- A "Day Off" with pay, to be approved within one year of award.
- Employee photograph posted at his/her worksite.
- Name on a plaque located in a central location of his/her worksite/division.
- Framed Certificate of Appreciation (NJDMAVA Form 672-7).

Quarterly Awards: Eligibility period and dues dates for nominations to be submitted to the Awards Coordinator are:

Quarter Months Due Date
First January-March 10 April
Second April-June 10 July
Third July-September 10 October
Fourth October-December 10 January
Nominations received after these dates will not be considered for an award.

Employee of the Quarter Awards:
- Designated Parking Space at their work site for one Quarter.
- A "Day Off" with pay, to be approved within one year of award date.
- Employee photograph and name posted at their work site in a display case at a central location.
- Framed Certificate of Appreciation (DMAVA Form 672-7).

Group of the Quarter:
A group should not be automatically disqualified (after the matter has been researched by a member of the committee) if one or more individuals receive a corrective/disciplinary action NOT related to work performance.

Group of the Quarter Awards:
- Posting of a group picture
- Certificate of Appreciation, Form 672-7 in a central location of their worksite/division in a display case.

Federal Awards
This program is designed to be implemented at the Functional Manager Level for:

- Permanent Military Technicians
- Permanent Competitive Technicians
- AGR Personnel - Army/Air

Any supervisor may nominate any full time employee using NJDMAVA Form 200.6.

Eligibility period and due dates for nominations to be submitted:

Quarter Months Due Date
First January-March 10 April
Second April-June 10 July
Third July-September 10 October
Fourth October-December 10 January

Nominations received after these dates will not be considered for an award.

Employee of the Quarter (EOQ) Recognition:
- Framed Certificate of Appreciation (DMAVA Form 672-7).
- Employee's picture prominently displayed at the Central Office Complex for the quarter following his/her selection.
- Designated parking space at the work site, if appropriate.
