Sgt. Maj. GradutesAfter more than two years of correspondence courses, writing assignments, and gym training, Command Sgt. Maj. Richard Bammert, Sgt. Maj. Jerome F. Zebrowski, Sgt. Maj. Michael C. Amoroso, and Sgt. Maj. John D. Schamber, recently graduated from the Sergeant’s Major Academy at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

The course started off with the Army Physical Fitness Test. Those who didn’t pass were sent home. More than 550 students came from the active duty Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard to the Academy.

The topics covered in the classes ranged from current affairs to safety to stress management to race relations. The focus in many of the courses centered on ways senior leadership interacted with soldiers; understanding the way people think, and psychology.

The Sergeant’s Major Academy is the final school a soldier attends in the Army’s Non-Commissioned Officer Education System.
