              AREA II    -    All Members of the NJNG

              AREA III   -    All personnel eligible for membership in the NJARNG

 

If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG.

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

2.  All government employees must provide a copy of their last SF 50.

3. Insure information related to the specific job you are applying for is accurate, complete and describes job-related qualifications, rather than your entire work history over a period of years.  Please include all related military experience, i.e., AFSC, MOS, etc. and explain your duties and responsibilities.  HAVING THE AFSC/MOS DOES NOT IN ITSELF QUALIFY YOU FOR THIS POSITION.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office):  Receives visitors and phone calls, refers caller to appropriate person(s), or provides information when routine or procedural matters of the office are involved.  Types correspondence, reports, memoranda, viewgraphs and similar materials, also reviews incoming correspondence, screens material for suspense dates, established controls and follow-up.  Schedules appointments and makes arrangements for time, participants, location of meeting, in accordance with instructions.  Receives and files correspondence records, and changes to regulations. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:   Experience performing any combination of the following tasks: typing (letters, forms): general clerical (answering the telephone, receiving visitors, composing correspondence, filing, reviewing outgoing correspondence for grammar, format, etc).

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:.  Must have 6 months of experience in the performance of clerical or administrative duties. 

KNOWLEDGE of the organization and function, sufficient to refer visitors, telephone calls, and mail.

SKILL in operating a typewriter. 

KNOWLEDGE of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats. 

ABILITY to keep supervisor’s calendar, to arrange meetings and conferences, reserving conference rooms and notifying all participants; making travel arrangements, typing travel vouchers and reports.

ABILITY to establish a filing system; to classify, retrieve, and dispose of materials.

MUST BE ABLE TO TYPE A MINIMUM OF 35 WORDS PER MINUTE.

 

SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:    Completion of 2 academic years of full-time business school or 2 academic years of education above the high-school level will satisfy the requirements for the position.

 

MUST SUBMIT CERTIFIED COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS FOR CREDIT TOWARDS EDUCATION.
