MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office): Plans overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization. Explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations. Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by supervisors. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A VALID STATE DRIVER’S LICENSE FOR THE STATE WHICH THEY LIVE OR ARE PRINCIPALLY EMPLOYED.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments. Experience which required the applicant to review work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience which provided knowledge of various lines of work performed. Experience dealing effectively with other people and gain their cooperation in achieving common goals. Experience in supervising or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise through subordinate supervisors, or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate, skill at applying human relations techniques, knowledge of general supervisory concepts, knowledge of shop processes.

ABILITY to plan and organize the work of the assigned repair organization.

ABILITY to meet deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE of heavy mobile equipment repair functions.

ABILITY to work with others.

ABILITY to oversee and train subordinate supervisors, to deal objectively with workers and render sound supervisory decisions.
