MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position
description is available in the Human Resource Office): Provides
direct input or participates in meetings and/or conferences with engineering,
production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of
long-range work requirements. Assigns
and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate
supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operations to
be followed. Develops and establishes
internal procedures (e.g., meetings, content, and timing of reports) to be
followed by subordinate supervisors to assure effective control and direction
of work activities, organizations, and personnel supervised. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance
with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various
types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization
and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A VALID STATE
DRIVER’S LICENSE FOR THE STATE WHICH THEY LIVE OR ARE PRINCIPALLY EMPLOYED.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or
training in the repair and operation of heavy mobile equipment. Must be able to plan schedules and sequence
of operations, and instruct subordinates in work requirements and difficult
operations/repairs. Must be able to read
and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, technical manuals, modification
work orders, publications and directives, and be able to relate these into
everyday instructions by which subordinate personnel are to accomplish work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must
have 36 months experience in the following:
ABILITY to plan and organize the work of the assigned repair organization.
ABILITY to determine priorities and meet deadlines.
KNOWLEDGE of heavy mobile equipment
repair functions.
ABILITY to work with others.
ABILITY to oversee and train subordinate supervisors, to deal objectively with
workers and render sound supervisory decisions.
ABILITY to devise new methods.
