NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires
concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New
Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: To obtain the required AFSC,
acceptance of this position requires a minimum ASVAB Score of 70 in the
Electrical area. ASVAB scores will not
be required to apply for the position, however applicants must obtain required
ASVAB scores prior to acceptance of the position. The applicant must verify
their scores with their Military Personnel Flight/Military Personnel Office.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete
position description is available in the Human Resource Office): Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs,
rebuilds, aligns, and calibrates complete electronic avionics
multi-systems. Troubleshoots
malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data,
Technical Orders, schematic and wiring
diagrams, engineering drawings, data downloads from various systems,
waveform analysis from Time Domain Reflectometer and
Radio Frequency Transmission Line Test Sets, Multiplex Bus Fault Isolation Test
Set, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Removes faulty system
components and line replaceable units (LRUs). Recommends hardware and software changes. Provides training to lower
graded personnel concerned with the repair of integrated avionics systems. Prepares of and participates in Aerospace
Expeditionary Force (AEF) taskings, deployments and
various inspections and exercises. May
be required to perform additional duties such as; launch and recovery, aircraft
servicing, fire fighting, aircraft crash and rescue duty, security guard
duties, snow removal, heavy equipment operator, facilities and equipment
maintenance, or serve as a member of a natural disasters or civil emergencies
team. Complies with
safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Performs other duties as
assigned.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience,
education, or training which demonstrates a knowledge of electronics principles
involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, and data
display, as well as mechanical and hydraulic knowledges involved in operations
of equipment such as control valves, gyros, turrets, and mounts and mechanical
computing devices.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:. Must have 18 months experience which
required a knowledge of all major units of a complete multi-system, i.e., how
they function independently, how they are interfaced in the integrated
subsystems, and how the subsystems interact to achieve operating
specifications.
KNOWLEDGE of theory of electronics.
KNOWLEDGE of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic,
and mechanical systems.
ABILITY to locate and diagnose malfunctions in integrated
electronic systems.
ABILITY to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
ABILITY to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
SKILL in the use of diagnostic and testing equipment.
SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Study successfully completed in a
college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for
experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom
hours of instruction per week) for six months of experience . Courses must be directly related to the work
of the position.
