NATIONAL
GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires
concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New
Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

2RXXX, 2AXXX, 2WXXX
MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
NOTE: THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED HAS ONE YEAR TO
OBTSAIN ADVERTISED AFSC/MOS.

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION: Non-critical/Sensitive
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: To
obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this
position requires a minimum ASVAB Score of 44 in the General area. ASVAB scores will not be required to apply
for the position, however applicants must obtain required ASVAB scores prior to
acceptance of the position. The applicant must verify their scores with their
Military Personnel Flight/Military Personnel Office.
PRE-PLACEMENT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a physical profile of: 3, 3, 3, 2, 3, 3
METHOD OF SELECTION: NJDMAVA TPR 335.A - Merit Placement Plan
and the current negotiated union contract.

(PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not
in the Government's interest.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position description is
available in the Human Resource Office):
Implements preliminary(advance) maintenance plans for assigned weapons
systems and schedule immediate maintenance for transient aircraft. Designates,
maintains and monitors current maintenance repair priorities of aircraft to
ensure actuality and compliance with flying schedules. Authorizes and assigns
aircraft maintenance jobs, job control numbers either manually or through a
computerized maintenance system, work priorities, and start and completion
times for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aircraft. Conduct the
control dispatch of shop assignments. Monitors progress of job control
completion by dispatched personnel. Take prompt and decisive action to make on
the-spot adjustments to maintenance repair priorities necessitated by
unscheduled maintenance requirements, and incorporates all unscheduled
maintenance into a daily plan.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which
indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, can express himself/herself
orally and in writing, and understands the terminology and data pertaining to
the repair operations and processes characteristic of the production activity.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must
have 24 months experience in the following:
ABILITY to communicate
both orally and in writing.
ABILITY to exercise
initiative in taking timely action to schedule and obtain required materials.
KNOWLEDGE of the
organization and work procedures of the production activity.
ABILITY to exercise
considerable initiative in taking prompt and decisive action to prevent or
alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials, or faulty
work processes.
SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Two full academic years of graduate education
which is in one of the following fields; production management, industrial
management or any other branch of engineering or other closely related
specialization. Appropriate education
and training other than that outlined above, such as in manpower development
programs, military training programs or formal apprenticeship programs, will be
granted on a month for month basis.
