MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office): Schedules and assures even flow and distribution of work and expedites handling of priority cases. Directs the local operation of ARNG Military Pay Systems (Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) and M-day personnel). Serves as the focal point for the administrative processing and review of payroll inquiries for the ARNG. Oversees the unit dual compensation reconciliation process to ensure all time has been properly approved and documented. Establishes an internal management control review program and conducts internal audits as necessary for these areas. Ensures validity of sensitive and confidential legal actions involving pay withholding for child support, alimony, divorce, education assistance, bankruptcy, and the Internal Revenue Service garnishments. Ensures that liaison is established and maintained with the Human Resource Office (HRO) and the Military Personnel Office (MPO) as well as the Defense Finance and Accounts Service (DFAS) to process pay documents and resolve problems. Prepares or ensures the preparation of required correspondence. Administers the finance portion of military/technician personnel readiness processing when ordered to active duty.
QUALIFICATIONS:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training
which demonstrates the applicants ability to read and apply a practical
knowledge of procedures and established methods; and skill in dealing with
others in person-to-person work relationships.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:. Must have 24 months experience in the
following
KNOWLEDGE of pertinent financial data involved.
ABILITY to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing.
SKILL in doing thorough accurate work that requires a logical sequence of steps.
ABILITY to analyze and interpret rules, regulations, and
procedures.
SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE: Education in schools above
the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one
academic year of study (i.e. 36 weeks of substantially full time study or 30
semester hours, or the equivalent) for 6 moths of experience
