If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and must attend a 4 week Warrior Transition Course.

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office):  Administers and oversees the Army Schools Program, resident and non-resident, for the state. Is the principal liaison between NG members, their units and service school authorities to resolve academic, personal, monetary or travel problems encountered while attending school. Promotes participation in course which develop leadership or proficiency in various skills for professional development through written and/or verbal communication to state NG personnel. Assists in coordinating unit training activities of state by performing such tasks as reviewing transportation requests for IDT and Annual training from subordinate units within the state.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  The purpose of the position is to develop training and safety plans and procedures for the command.  Provides staff planning and assistance to insure that required training, safety and readiness objectives are achieved and mobilization planning requirements are accomplished.  Training activities at this level are concerned with the training of military personnel in a wide variety of occupations including clerical, trades and labor, administrative, technical, and/or professional skills.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have 12 months experience in the following:

ABILITY to develop administer and evaluate education/ training programs.

ABILITY to secure facilities and coordinate training.

ABILITY to gather data and compile plans and reports.

ABILITY to coordinate and control testing programs.

KNOWLEDGE on using AFCOS (Automated Funds Control Orders System) for publishing and archiving unit orders.

KNOWLEDGE of Powerpoint, Excel and Microsoft Word.

KNOWLEDGE of Galaxy systems.

 

SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:    Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted at the rate of one academic year of education for twelve months of experience.  Each 30 semester hours credited must have included at least 6 semester hours of courses which are directly related to the type of work of the position.
