NJ Acting Govenor Donald DiFrancesco
Meet the Acting Governor New Jersey

Dear Veterans:

As New Jersey's Acting Governor,I want to thank each of you not only for answering the call when our nation needed you but also for the continuing contribution you have made to our state since your return.

With your support during my tenure as Senate President, we have been able to accomplish a number of important veteran goals. We stopped the privatization of the Paramus Veterans Home, built a state-of-the-art nursing home at Menlo Park, increased the property tax deduction for veterans, and built a magnificent memorial to our Korean War Veterans -- just to name a few achievements.

Now we must look to the future for there are still significant challenges ahead. We must replace the aging veterans home at Vineland, expand and improve the General Doyle Cemetery at Arneytown, construct a memorial to honor our World War II Veterans, expand the Transitional Housing Program at Veterans Haven, and address the inequities of the VERA funding model.

I look forward to working closely with the Veterans Advisory Council and the commanders of our veterans organizations during the next year to ensure that we in New Jersey are adequately addressing the needs of the veteran community.Working together,we can move these projects into the "mission accomplished" column. I am committed to this goal and ask for your support as well.

Sincerely,
