Who is Eligible for Admission?

The Veterans’ Home in Vineland is open to veterans who were honorably discharge from U.S. war or peacetime services. Spouses and Widows of eligible veterans and parents of members of the military who were killed in action during a period of war, recognized as a Gold Star Parent are also eligible.

A spouse/widow/widower is not eligible if they are divorced. A spouse/widow/widower must be at least 50 years of age and must have been married to the eligible veteran for a period of not less than 10 years.

Who Receives Preference?

Preference is given to veteran applicants who were residents of the State of New Jersey for at least two years immediately prior to application for admission. Eligible veterans shall receive preference over non-veteran applicants.

The waiting list is generated on a first come first serve basis, using the criteria noted in New Jersey Administrative Code Chapter 5. Residents pay according to ability, based on income.
