INFORMATION FLOW

POLICY STATEMENT:

It is the policy of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Division of Veterans Healthcare Services, to keep each of the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Homes informed of matters related to facility operations, and to facilitate the flow of information linking the Division and the Memorial Homes.

PURPOSE:

To assure all information pertinent to the operation of the Department linking each of the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Homes, i.e., operational issues, announcements, memoranda, and related communiqués are disseminated, and the flow of information among all levels of the organization is shared in a manner that keeps all parties informed.

DEFINITION:

INFORMATION FLOW / DISSEMINATION - is defined as the continuing process of providing, soliciting, and sharing of information between the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and its entities, from the highest level of Administration through line personnel, as needed.

PROCEDURE:

A variety of methods are utilized to disseminate/solicit information:

 

a. Memoranda used to provide information to individuals, specific groups, or the employee population in general, as needed. These will remain the same as the operational day-to-day communications.

b. Reports, studies, and/or significant correspondence required at regular intervals, or as requested, by the Department, outside agencies, etc. All these reports will be routed through the appropriate Chain of Command.

c. Internet Access, Electronic Mail, etc. Refer to Circular No. 97-02-OTS and No. 97-03-OTS in Section 46, Office Information Systems.
