DIET MANUAL, NJ VETERANS MEMORIAL HOME FACILITIES
I. PURPOSE:
An updated Diet Manual must be approved by the Supervising Clinical
Dietitian and/or Clinical Dietitian, the Medical Director and the
Interdisciplinary Team. This manual must be used to standardized the
ordering of diets. A current Diet Manual will be used by the facilities
with statements and revisions geared toward the needs of veteran home
residents.
II. PROCEDURE:
A. The Diet Manual must be reviewed annually and revised as necessary by
the Nutritional Care Services Department.
B. The manual must be dated to identify the date of review or revisions.
C. Revisions of the Diet Manual must be approved by the Medical Director
and the Interdisciplinary Team.
D. Nutritional deficiencies of any diet in the manual must be corrected.
E. The Diet Manual must also be reviewed and revised, if necessary, at
the release of new Recommended Dietary Allowances.
F. A copy of the manual must be in each veteran home resident area as
well as the food preparation area.
