WORK ORDERS
I. PURPOSE:
To ensure that necessary work/repairs to any furniture or equipment are
completed. To maintain accountability of manpower hours and materials.
II. PROCEDURE:
A. In order for work to be completed, the following criteria must be
met:

1. Work orders are to be completed by
department/staff for which work is to be done. Individuals
completing a work order must provide a description of the job,
the location, the date and signature.
2. Work orders are then submitted to the Maintenance Supervisor
for review. The Maintenance Supervisor will issue the work order
to appropriate maintenance personnel upon approval.
3. Maintenance personnel shall review the work order to
determine the necessary materials to complete the job and
proceeds to complete the job.
4. When the job is completed, the time spent and materials used
to complete the job will be indicated by the Maintenance
personnel. The individual completing the work order, or their
designee, will then be asked to verify completion of the job by
the Maintenance personnel.
5. Work orders are then returned to the supervisor for a
reference number. Work orders are recorded in a logbook.
6. Work orders are filed for future reference. |
B. Materials needed to complete work orders:

1. Work orders that can not be completed due to
lack of supplies will be placed on hold. The Maintenance
Supervisor will approve the ordering for needed materials.
2. Upon receipt of materials, work orders will be returned to
maintenance personnel for completion.
3. Procedure for completion - See "A" above, items 1-6. |

C. Follow-Up

1. Within ten (10) working days, or two calendar
weeks, a work order, which has not been completed, will be
address through a formal report to the requesting department.
2. If a work order is not completed within thirty (30) days, it
will be brought to the administrative level. |
