(TRENTON) – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will stop accepting surrendered license plates at all Central Inspection Facilities after the close of business on July 31, 2006.

To surrender license plates to MVC after that date, visit any of the 45 Motor Vehicle Agencies. Directions to all MVC facilities are at www.njmvc.gov. Or call (609) 292-6500.

Until close of business on July 31, 2006, 15 of MVC’s 31 Central Inspection Facilities accept surrendered license plates. They are: Cherry Hill, Eatontown, Kilmer, Lodi, Mays Landing, Millville, Newark, Plainfield, Rahway, Randolph, Salem, Southampton, Washington, Wayne and Winslow.
