MVC to Delay Relocation of South Plainfield Agency
Hadley Road site to remain open until May 24

(TRENTON) – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will delay the relocation of its South Plainfield Agency to 698 Oak Tree Avenue in the Golden Acres Shopping Center from Monday, May 21 to Tuesday, May 29.

The current South Plainfield Agency, located at 6051 Hadley Road in the Middlesex Mall, will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, instead of the originally scheduled closing date of Thursday, May 17.

Customers who require MVC services on Friday, May 25 or Saturday, May 26 may visit the Edison Agency at 45 Kilmer Road or visit www.njmvc.gov for alternate locations.

The Oak Tree Avenue facility is approximately five miles away from the Hadley Road site. Hours of operation at the new agency will be weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with evening hours on Tuesdays until 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

The new 8,532-square-foot agency will replace the much smaller 4,309-square-foot facility on Hadley Road. In addition to its size, the Oak Tree Avenue site will feature an increased number of service windows (from seven to 12), as well as four Digital Driver License (DDL) stations. The new facility will also include a 2,700-square-foot training area and an expanded customer waiting area.

Avoid the end- and beginning-of-the month rush at MVC agencies by visiting mid-week and mid-month. For hours and service information, customers may visit the MVC online at www.njmvc.gov.
