TRU-ID Requirements Delayed Due to ACLU Court Motion

(TRENTON) – New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission customers are advised that, due to a court motion filed by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, the May 7 start date of TRU-ID requirements for customers applying for or renewing a driver license, non-driver ID or permit has been temporarily postponed.

Until further notice, customers visiting an agency should continue to bring 6 Points of Identification to obtain a New Jersey driver license, non-driver ID or permit. Upon presenting the proper documents, a customer will be issued a 4-year document for a fee of $24.
