Proposed Amendments and New Rules – Enhanced Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program regulations

The Motor Vehicle Commission has proposed amendments and new rules to the Enhanced Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program regulations. 

The amendments and new rules relate to inspections, including practices and procedures at official inspection facilities and licensed private inspection facilities, and standards and test procedures to be used by inspection facilities.  The Commission’s proposal was published in the August 2, 2021 issue of the New Jersey Register.

A copy of the regulatory proposal may be obtained on the NJMVC website, NJMVC.gov.  A copy may also be obtained by mail from the Motor Vehicle Commission, 225 East State Street, 9th Floor – East Wing, P.O. Box 162, Trenton, NJ 08666-0162, via email request to MVC.RuleComments@mvc.nj.gov, or by telephone request at (609) 777-1407.
