2007 Historic Preservation Conference

The New Jersey Historic Trust will present a four-hour seminar with the support of the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
Who Should Attend: Any and all elected and appointed officials and municipal employees responsible for historic preservation -- Mayors, council members, historic preservation commission members, planning, zoning, historic preservation specialists.
The goal of the seminar is to educate decision makers in municipal government about how historic preservation can be a progressive tool for sustaining community and growing economic development and tourism.
Using real-life New Jersey examples, the Historic Trust will introduce participants to the benefits of historic preservation, address concerns related to preservation and private ownership, and provide concrete tools for implementing programs that enhance property values, encourage neighborhood stability and support economic growth through job creation and tourism.
