The Council will hear reports from committees who have recently met. The Arts Education Committee will present its recommendations for support of long-term artists- residencies for the 2009-2010 school year, pending availability of funds, and artists for addition to the Artists-in-Education roster. The Grants Committee will present its recommendations for the award of any remaining FY09 Arts Council funds.
Also on the agenda for the afternoon is a presentation by the New Jersey Arts Education Partnership, the central resource for arts education information, policy and advocacy in the state. The Partnership will present information on the Model Schools Program which has been seeking to document schools that are successfully meeting the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards in the visual and performing arts in order to share models and best practices with schools statewide.
