Foreign Direct Investment Services
New Jersey has historically been one of the most attractive destinations in the United States for foreign direct investment (FDI) because of its strategic location and other strengths. The State of New Jersey provides foreign investors a stable and welcoming market and New Jersey’s workforce is educated, productive, and highly innovative.   As a place to do business, New Jersey offers a good legal system, outstanding infrastructure, and access to the most lucrative consumer market on the American East Coast. New Jersey is located in the center of a two trillion dollar economy with access to 100 million consumers within a twenty-four hour drive.

The State Office of International Trade and Protocol attracts new foreign direct investment through relationships the State forges with the foreign diplomatic, governmental and business communities. The attraction of new foreign direct investment and the promotion of international business partnerships to foster job retention and creation are key elements to New Jersey’s economic development.  The State, therefore, offers free customized investment consulting services to international investors, which assists them to access state and local financing incentive programs and site selection services.  The State of New Jersey has a highly qualified team to guide international firms interested in establishing a presence in the state through every stage of the process.  More importantly, once a company establishes a presence in the State, the state has agencies and departments tasked with assisting those firms with their business development needs to not only remain in the state, but grow their business in New Jersey.

The State of New Jersey has economic incentives to encourage foreign companies to make an investment and establish a corporate presence in the state. Incentives range from tax grants, low cost bond financing, and workforce development training.  For more information on incentives go to the “Financing & Incentives tab.
