In order to qualify for this credit program, a company needs to make at least a $75 million capital investment in a qualified business facility located in a designated urban transit hub and employ at least 250 full-time people at that facility.
Tenants in qualified business facilities may also receive tax credits if they occupy space in a qualified business facility that represents at least $25 million of the capital investment in the facility and employs at least 250 full-time employees in that facility.
Transit hubs are located around New Jersey Transit, PATH, or PATCO stations in Camden, East Orange, Elizabeth, Hoboken, Jersey City, Newark, New Brunswick, Paterson and Trenton.
Additional program details include:
Tax credits are equal to 100 percent of the qualified capitol investments, and taxpayers may apply 10 percent of the total tax credit amount per year over a ten-year period against their corporation business tax, insurance premium tax or gross income tax liability.
