MATHEMATICS REQUIREMENTS
For the HSPA mathematics section, students must successfully complete two PATs in each cluster. See the four Math clusters.

LANGUAGE ARTS LITERACY REQUIREMENTS
For the HSPA language arts literacy, students must successfully complete two PATs in each cluster. See the the language arts literacy clusters. See the chart below:

If the LAL HSPA scores falls below 200	Students must complete these SRAs
FOR READING	Students must successfully complete *one narrative reading and* one persuasive reading PAT**.
FOR WRITING	Students must successfully complete two writing PATs.

PERFECT/NEAR PERFECT CLUSTER RAW SCORE EXEMPTION
This exception may only be applied to the results of a student's first HSPA administration. A near perfect cluster raw score is defined as missing the perfect cluster raw score by one point. A perfect/near perfect cluster raw score exemption is the only exception to the rule that a student must successfully complete two PATs for each cluster in a content area in which the student is partially proficient.
