 MONISHA'S RESULTS REVIEWED
Monisha takes the HSPA in the spring of her 11th grade year. She did not pass the Math section.  Monisha must participate in a school-designed SRA instructional program before she can take the Math SRA PATs.

MONISHA'S NEXT STEP: INSTRUCTION
       1. In June, the school will arrange with the student (in this case, Monisha) to take the SRA instruction during the summer (if offered) or in the fall of her senior year. The instruction is 'targeted' to the specific content area which showed only partial proficiency.
       2. Monisha must attend a special SRA instructional program in order to learn Math.

      3.  One approach to designing the Math SRA instructional program is to use the PAT item number which tells you the knowledge and problem solving skills that the student should know in order to be successful on that PAT.

MONISHA'S NEXT STEP: RE-TAKE THE HSPA
She must take the Fall Math HSPA. She does not need to retake the LAL, since she was found to be proficient in language arts literacy.

THE SCHOOL'S STEPS

It is up to the school to arrange the days and the times of the instruction. So, it could be during a weekday, or it could be at night, or it could be on a Saturday.
The school personnel who are involved in the instruction are the content teachers.
This means, in Monisha's case, she will have to attend a special instructional program designed by a Math teacher, and taught by a Math teacher.
