Scoring the SRA

SRA PATs for the language arts literacy reading cluster and mathematics are scored by item-specific rubrics.  SRA PATs for the language arts literacy writing cluster are scored by using the New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Rubric.  No rounding is permitted.

   For the writing cluster, the proficient score is a summed score of 7 for each PAT. If there are three readers, the proficient score is still 7, but it is the sum of the two highest contiguous scores. If no two of the three scores are contiguous, the student must complete another writing PAT.

   For the reading cluster, the proficient score is a mean score of 3 for each PAT. If there are three readers, the proficient score is still 3 but it is the mean of the two highest contiguous scores. If no two of the three scores are in agreement, the student must complete another reading PAT.

    For mathematics, the proficient score is a mean score of 2 for each PAT. If there are three readers, the proficient score is still 2 but it is the mean of the two highest contiguous scores. If no two of the three scores are in agreement, the student must complete another mathematics PAT.
