How to request a New Jersey GED transcript or diploma verification?
Through December 31, 2001, an official GED transcript, on New Jersey State letterhead, lists the highest scores earned from all previous editions of the GED tests, including the 1988 edition of the tests, retired on December 31, 2001.
Beginning January 1, 2002, the official GED transcript, on New Jersey State letterhead, lists the highest scores earned only on the 2002 edition of the GED tests. Scores from earlier editions of the GED tests will not be combined with scores on the 2002 tests. An official transcript also verifies whether the person earned a New Jersey High School credential.
The diploma verification is an official document, on New Jersey State letterhead, certifying that a person has earned the New Jersey State High School credential. It does not list the scores. This document has an original signature of the certifying authority and the raised seal of the State of New Jersey.
