The management of the secondary and postsecondary vocational - technical education system and administration of federal and state vocational - technical education funding is the responsibility of the Office of Career and Technical Education.

The office is responsible for implementation of the state's comprehensive career guidance and counseling system in partnership with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development's Center for Occupational Employment Information.  Career and technical education programs and career guidance expand educational options available to families and provide opportunities for creativity, efficiency and effectiveness.
