An acute care psychiatric inpatient unit that serves youth between the ages of 5 through 17 who have been screened by a designated mental health emergency or screening service and received a primary psychiatric diagnosis, and who exhibit a level of personal and social functioning impairment warranting inpatient psychiatric crisis intervention and/or treatment.
