The Division of Family Development provides leadership and supervision to the public and private agencies that deliver financial aid and support services to New Jersey's needy individuals and families. These major programs include: Work First New Jersey/Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (WFNJ/TANF), WFNJ/General Assistance (WFNJ/GA), Food Stamps, Emergency Assistance, Child Support and Services, Child Care, Home Energy Assistance, Social Services for the Homeless, Refugee Resettlement, and Supplemental Security Income.
Program Description
The Food Stamp Program provides food assistance to low income households. Program eligibility is based upon a household’s income, resources, and expenses for medical, shelter, and dependent care.
