Program Description
The Statewide Respite Care Program provides a variety of services to relieve the stress experienced by unpaid caregivers who provide daily assistance to elderly and functionally impaired adults. Services include: Companion, Homemaker/Home Health Aide, Social or Medical Adult Day Health Care, Private Duty Nursing, Adult Family Care, In-patient Care, Campership, and a Consumer Directed Option.
 
Fees
Cost share on a sliding fee scale.
 

Eligibility
General Requirements:
Care recipient must have an unpaid caregiver, must reside in New Jersey, must be age 18 or older, and must have a chronic physical or mental disability requiring caregiver supervision or assistance with basic daily needs.
 
Income Requirements:
Care recipient must have income at or below $1,869 per month ($3,738 for couples), and have liquid resources of less than $40,000 ($60,000 for couples).

Language Translation Services
County Sponsor Agency may contract with providers who speak languages other than English; will need to inquire.
