| The Dollar-a-Day policy is a program that helps make automobile insurance
available to drivers who are likely to go uninsured because of limited financial
resources.
The Department of Banking and Insurance does not issue the automobile
insurance but provides information on how to obtain the Dollar-a-Day
coverage.
The Dollar-a-Day automobile insurance policy can be obtained at most
insurance agencies. The policy covers emergency treatment immediately following
an accident and treatment of serious brain and spinal cord injuries up to
$250,000.
The policy will not cover outpatient treatment covered by Medicaid, damage
caused to other people or property, or damages to one's own
