Program Description
A Designated Screening Center is a public or private ambulatory care service designated by the Commissioner that provides mental health services; these include assessment of the Department of Human Services and emergency and referral services to mentally ill persons in a specified geographical area.

Services available are:
  • assessment
  • emergency and/or crisis intervention
  • referrals to inpatient settings

No fee for qualified individuals
 

Eligibility

General Requirements:
Persons in crisis who need mental health emergency and/or crisis intervention services.
 
Income Requirements:
No individual otherwise eligible shall be denied admission due to inability to pay or the type of insurance held.
