Program Description
The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program provides eligible low-income seniors with coupons to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables and fresh cut herbs from certified farmers, and roadside stands. The Program reinforces the importance of using locally grown produce and expands the awareness and use of the local farmers. The program also promotes the financial growth of local farmers..
Eligible senior participants receive:
Six $5 checks to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and fresh cut herbs from June to November 30.

General Requirements:
At least 60 years old
Live in New Jersey
Income Requirements:
Have an annual household income at or below $20,036 per individual or $26, 955 per couple. (The income guidelines are effective from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010)
