Bruce James has been a resident of Clifton for 17 years and lived in the Highlands area for nine years. He is currently Director of the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and has been a member since November 2005. As a Freeholder, Mr. James is Chairman of the Energy and Sustainability Committee and the Human Services Committee. He also serves as a member of the Law and Public Safety Committee. He is a member of the Board of Estimates for Passaic County Technical Institute and Passaic County Community College and has also serves as a liaison to the Human Services Advisory Council.

Mr. James spent much of his professional career serving the residents of Passaic County as an employee of the Passaic County Board of Social Services. He worked for many years as a social service caseworker and later as a unit supervisor.

Mr. James attended William Paterson College where he majored in Political Science and Philosophy.
