Michael R. Dressler is a life-long resident of Cresskill in Bergen County, where he has served on the town council and as Mayor. He currently serves as Bergen County Surrogate Judge, a position to which he was first elected in 1997.

Mr. Dressler is a 1976 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, and received his law degree from Seton Hall University Law School 1979. In 1983, the same year he was elected Mayor of Cresskill, Mr. Dressler was appointed counsel to the County of Bergen by the Board of Freeholders, becoming the youngest person ever appointed to that position at the age of 31. Mr. Dressler’s experience also includes many years of private practice law as well as a 1991 appointment as counsel to the N.J. Sports and Exposition Authority.
